Swimming Tension Goggles (Swim goggles with a gauge)
Never suffer from red rings around your eyes caused by over tightened swimming goggles.
Never suffer from leaking swimming goggles due to incorrectly adjusted swimming goggles.
Our ‘proof of concept’ prototype verifies that by using the tension gauge, the optimum tension can easily be achieved.
Swimglows has patent granted for Swimming Goggles with a tension gauge built-in to the goggle housing as well an independent tension gauge device that can be incorporated in to the goggle head strap or adjustment buckles.
A simple and easy tactile plus visual guide for adjusting your swimming goggles tension.
Adjust the head strap buckle until the green pointers are within the green coloured area of the tension gauge, this then confirms you have found the optimum tension. However, if the mobile pointers are within the red areas, your goggles will be too tight or too loose and require further head strap adjustments.
This idea was born from the fact that both my daughters were constantly having leaky goggles, red markings around their eyes and even their goggles falling off whilst performing a race dive at a swimming gala / competition. The other problem was that both my daughters had very long hair, so each time they trained and put their swimming caps on, the size and shape of their head would change, which in turn affected the tension of their goggles. As this was a continual problem, we set about trying to solve how to correctly and accurately adjust the tension of the goggle head strap. We carried out market research on masters / adult swimmers and found the following results:
19% of swimmers said they start with the goggles loose and keep tightening until the goggles stop leaking.
15% of swimmers said that they over tighten the goggles and suffer from red rings around their eyes.
0% of swimmers measure their head strap and scientifically adjust the strap.
25% of swimmers said they can judge the correct tension and have no problems with their goggles.
30% of swimmers said they guess the tightness and take a chance.
11% of swimmers said they used another method or a combination of the above.
Look out for our revolutionizing tension gauge goggles in the near future.

PB Pacer – The worlds 1st vibrating swimmers training aid
This is the 1st ever device that allows you to pace your training sessions by programming your own (PB) personal best times and goals.
Pace your swimming to perfection with the PB Pacer.
Above are the first 3d drawings
Why the PB Pacer is a must have Training Aid for swimmers and triathletes:
Whether your are swimming, running, cycling, driving or rowing you will never need to look at your watch again!
How it works: You have the option of programming up to 60 different linked count down times. The PB Pacer will vibrate after each count down time has elapsed, giving you an indication of your progress without interrupting your swimming stroke.
When using in the swimming pool: If the PB Pacer vibrates before you have reached the end of the pool, you are swimming too slow or if you have reached the end of the pool before the PB Pacer has vibrated, you are swimming too fast.
Photos above are of the first prototypes made with fragile plastic casings, small LCD display screens and different coloured silicone wrist bands.
This photo shows that a larger screen was required.
Above are drawings of the new model with 3 control buttons, all previous models had 4 buttons (less is more)!
Above is the finished model with stainless steel casing and large screen display.
This is a unique wristband which has 60 presettable and linked countdown timers with a vibrating alarm as each timer reaches zero so you can preset the timers for a series of events. Press start and feel the vibration! You don’t need to look at the display.
I originally designed this for swimmers as a training aid but I am sure there are many other uses for the PB Pacer as it also has a 10 lap memory stopwatch and time of day functions.
Above are 3D CAD drawings for the PB Pacer’s unique lithium battery charger.
Another unique feature of the PB Pacer is that there are no external charger connection points as the metal casing is used to charge the battery by using the outer upper casing and isolated rear battery lid as the positive and negative battery charger connection points. The PB Pacer will stay 100% waterproof for ever.
We currently have patent pending on the PB Pacer and the name “PB Pacer” is a fully registered and granted Trade Mark.
Swimglows hope to launch the The PB Pacer in 2012
